Faculty

Applications are invited for tenure track faculty positions with state salary support in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Applicants will be considered for ranks of assistant, associate or full professor and must have a PhD and/or MD degree with appropriate postdoctoral research experience. Successful candidates will have significant extramural research funding and demonstrated scholarly productivity.

We are seeking individuals who have research interests that complement existing areas of excellence in cardiovascular, renal, and neuroendocrine physiology, and the pathophysiology of obesity, metabolic, cardiovascular and kidney diseases. Successful candidates will devote at least 90% effort to their research program. The large group of researchers in the department offers excellent opportunities for collaboration at molecular, cellular, or systems levels of integration.

The department offers generous laboratory space and excellent core facilities in the new state-of-the-art Arthur C. Guyton Research Center.
